was born and raised in Sparta, GA where he currently resides. He is a licensed funeral director and the owner of Dawson’s Mortuary, serving Hancock and Warren counties. He has served as coroner of Hancock County since 2017 and is in his second elected term. This position was previously held by his father Alexander Ingram who was the first African-American coroner in the state of Georgia. Ingram attended The Fort Valley State University where he received a bachelor’s degree in business administration. He also holds master’s degrees in business administration and public administration from Georgia College and Wesleyan College respectively. Ingram is also a proud veteran of the U.S. Air Force Reserves. Adrick previously worked as an educator and in banking.
He has worked tirelessly to ensure that every citizen in Hancock has a voice. This led him to create and host an online talk show that discussed local, state, and national issues while providing first-hand information to local citizens. In 2019, during the Covid-19 pandemic, a time of heightened panic and confusion, this show provided information to citizens in Hancock and surrounding counties. Over the span of 2 years, he interviewed experts on health, political and social issues including medical personnel and administrators, state representatives and state senators, candidates for U.S. Congress and U. S. Senate, other elected officials, along with local citizens and others across the state of Georgia depending on the topic of the day. In an effort to assist in providing greater access to healthcare and draw attention to the ongoing healthcare crisis in Hancock County, Ingram led the effort to attain over 1200 signatures for a petition to allow a local physician to be recertified in that same year. In 2020, he successfully led a protest to demand that county officials end their contract with the county attorney, who was the author of a legislative bill restricting rights of Georgia voters.
From delivering food to those less fortunate, to planning free community events that bring people together, being actively involved as a supporter of local schools and mentoring kids within his community, he consistently finds ways to be of service within his community. Adrick serves as the president of the Hancock – Warren County Chapter of The Fort Valley State Alumni Association and as a member of the boards for Communities in Schools of Central Georgia and Family Connections of Warren County. He is a member of Pi Mu Nu chapter of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc.
Ingram has been featured on 11Alive News (Atlanta), Fox National News, 13WMAZ (Macon), 6WJBF (Augusta), the Associated Press, Georgia Public Broadcasting and other news outlets.
In his spare time, he enjoys traveling, reading, and spending time with family and friends. He has one son, Ethan Alexander Ingram and wife, A. Joi Ingram, Pharm.D.
